A. The subsidy under the Policy is applicable on electric vehicles registered after midnight of Oct 14, 2022, and before midnight of Oct 13, 2023.

A. The subsidy applicable on electric vehicles is based on vehicle segment and budget allocation under the Policy. For instance, an electric two-wheeler with ex-factory price of INR. 1 lakh shall be applicable for INR. 5,000 subsidy.

A. In any case, where a buyer purchases EV without battery, only 50% of the admissible purchase subsidy shall be provided to the buyer.

A. No, Individual 'buyers' shall be allowed to avail the purchase subsidy only on the purchase of a single product of an e-two-wheeler or e-three-wheeler or e-four-wheeler or e-bus or e-goods carrier. However, Aggregator/ Fleet operator 'buyers' shall be allowed to avail the same purchase subsidy on purchase of maximum 10 items of an e-two-wheeler or e-three-wheeler or e-four-wheeler and 5 items of e-bus or e-goods carrier.

A. Buyers of electric vehicles can visit this website: www.upevsubsidy.in and create their login credentials by providing their vehicle registration number and mobile number provided during registration of the vehicle.

A. The buyer shall be required to upload the following documents with their online subsidy claim application:
  • Copy of passport size photograph submitted during the registration of the vehicle
  • Copy of the signature submitted during the registration of the vehicle
  • Copy of the buyer's Aadhar in individual cases OR a copy of the GST certificate (or PAN Card) in the case on non-individual purchases
  • Copy of the cancelled cheque with the buyer's name

A. The purchase subsidy will be provided to the buyer as reimbursement through direct online transfer after successfully completing the subsidy application form. The application form shall be then verified through the Dealer and Regional Transport Office (RTO) for any discrepancies. While complete applications will be processed through the banking partner, the incomplete applications shall be sent back to the buyer to address any clarifications(s).

A. Upon successful submission of the buyer's application for claiming purchase subsidy, the system shall generate a unique application number that the buyer should record to track status of the application.

A. Yes, all EVs purchased & registered in UP over a period of 3 years from policy notification shall be exempted from road tax and reregistration fee at the rate of 100%. In addition, all EVs manufactured, purchased & registered in UP in the 4th & 5th year of policy period shall be exempted from road tax and reregistration fee at the rate of 100%.

A. The applicable purchase subsidy shall be credited to the buyer's account within 30 days from the date of successful complete application.

A. The buyer's purchase subsidy status shall be updated on the portal, and the buyer can access the same through their login credentials. In case the buyer seeks any additional information, they can write to the Transport Dept. at: atc.revenue-up@nic.in or visit their regional transport office.
